Preparing for your first cycle class? Here’s everything you need to know before coming to the studio.

Getting ready for your first class? Don’t be nervous! We believe in our instructors and our tribe of incredible cyclists, we want to share the magic with YOU!

Most classes are 45 minutes long and we encourage all students to go at their own pace. Clip in and have fun! Onyx is a judgment-free zone.

Prepping for Class

  • Leggings or bike shorts are best for riding. Spin shoes are recommended but not required! We have straps on the pedals made for regular gym shoes.

  • Bring bottled water & a small towel for sweat; if you forget yours, water is available to purchase and we do offer towels.

  • Try to arrive at least 15 minutes before class. If you need help setting up your bike and clipping-in, don’t be shy! Ask the instructor for assistance. We’re happy to share tips for a comfortable and confident ride!

During Your Ride

  • Try to keep resistance on the wheel to prevent injuries and keep your joints and muscles safe!

  • Have fun! Onyx Cycle Studio is a judgment-free zone and we encourage doing what’s best for YOU.

  • Cheering on fellow riders is encouraged!

After Class

  • Stick around for the instructor-led stretch.

  • Share your feedback! Stop by the front desk or talk to your instructor and let us know about your experience.
